On to the next car...This car I purchased about the same time as the '78 NYB. This car was owned by another friend of mine that I met thru car shows. When I met the owner he had a '77 NYB in yellow 4dr that he took to car shows. Thought he drove it in winters it was nice but needing alittle help. In 1996 era he purchased this car from another friend of mine. Al purchased this car close to new and drove it sparingly. Both owners were meticulas but the the last owner took it to new heights. Besides a new paint job he found NOS wheel mouldings etc to only drive this car to car shows.
This car would be seen all over Wisconsin Mopar shows. Health concerns took over and the owner died. In fall of 2012 the car was for sale on craigslist. His estate was being liquidated and the family did not want the car. A deal was made and it was driven home after sitting dormant for several years. A few minor issues remain to be done. Although it is different than my other cars, I appreciate it the same.

Gorgeous car...I've owned 3 R body New Yorkers over the years and I really liked them. The hood ornament is wrong, but the red crest goes well with it.

Yes, the second owner added that and the St Regis aluminum trim outside between front and rear door glass. And also the Ahooga horn under the hood. I don't like the exhaust tips and trying to decide what to do with that issue.

:BangHead:
Burgundy padded T&T wheel....

It that a telescoping column? If it is........will it bolt on to a formal? Chrysler didn't stamp those steering wheels with part numbers. Hard to tell if it'll work without seeing the back side of that steering wheel.

To the best of my knowledge, it is not a telescoping wheel. But I will recheck come Spring time.
I'm assumining, just as in Bob's case, the steering columing in that car is a tilt only but under the horn pad you'll see it has the slot needed for it to be a T&T wheel. The backside collar will probably have to trimmed, again, as in Bob's case.

as mentioned in another thread yesterday. These cars are rare. And it has a reason

Yah, I remember. They were horrible, horrible, cars.

My R bodies all ran really well and lasted in ways comparable to anything else back then. The only thing that bugged me was the chromed aluminum bumpers...the chrome would peel off (especially on the rear bumpers) in no time.

15-17 seconds actually not that bad for Diesel cars of the day.
