I need help identifying this 2 barrel carby that is on my 58 Doge Custom Royal .
Engine is 350 CI and it runs good and idles fine considering it has been sitting a long time .
It has a good constant squirt of fuel from the accelerator pump .
It seems a little lean to me and has a slight bog of idle every now and then .
I would like to find a carby kit before i take it apart to adjust the float level and replace the accelerator pump plunger .
I t seems like it may be a later model Carby like this one on Ebay ,
Pardon Our Interruption...
Cheers ,
Greg

Looks like a Carter BBD 1.5 2bbl. "1.5" as the throttle bores are 1.56" diameter. ONLY on B motors, usually. The A318s probably had the same family of carb, but with 1.44" throttle bores.

Factory service manuals and such at www.jholst.net or www.muymopar.com . Might have to manually input those addresses.

The two carbs look similar, but the B-engine carbs hare a "fatter" front section for a larger float bowl dimension. Should be a stamping number on the base of the throttle body, I suspect. 4 digits plus a possible "S"?

Take care down there!

Sure looks like a BBD. Fuel line and choke rod attach in the BBD places. My attitude toward BBD carbs is to save them for the metal recyclers after a couple I had. One can only twiddle old metal so long.

Would this be the right carb kit or does someone know of another source for a kit .

If your venturi are 1.5". I like old Sorenson parts! Measure and make sure. Also be mindful that old kits might not work well with ethanol polluted modern petrol. Do y'all have that problem Down Under? If so, you'll need a recently made kit. I HOPE that Sorenson kit works out for you, but be sure of your variables. It appears to be good for this job.
