2 Door '65 Newport for sale - Pittsburgh area

You are correct, sir. Especially when first gear is non-synchro. There's a lot of slop and the throws are very long. Floor shift conversions weren't a fad. They were a necessity.
Yes, it would a shame cutting up the floor on this car but it would be very period correct.
I've driven a number of "3 on the tree" cars, never had a problem.

It's even got the correct Chrysler dogdish caps on it.
It's too bad that car has no shine. It looks like the whole thing was painted with Duplicolor touchup spraycans.

I can deal without shine. I can't deal without floor pans.

I was born, raised and schooled in Pittsburgh -- didn't leave until I was 25. Roads are salted there in the winter. Every car and truck more than 5 years old in that town had some rust after 5 years, even the Ziebarted ones. If this Chrysler isn't seriously rusted underneath, I'll be very surprised.

Same here... Connecticut. Born and raised. Never even considered a classic till I moved out west and saw that they actually existed without driving up the road at a 35 degree angle to the white line.
