2016 Carlisle Car Photo's

This show is on my bucket list to go one more time. Thanks for posting all the pics so I could attend vicariously. This 67 Monaco really caught my attention. Does it look as good close up as in the pic? What does the engine call out say behind front left wheel?

There was a lot of the show field I never did get figured out... I spent too much time in the swap and the heat drove many away early

The heat was a little rough this year and you are correct that some left early. The showfield at Carlisle is always in a state of flux anyway. Some come late and some leave early. They don't attend all 3+ days (I usually do 2) and they don't park in the same place every day.

No I'm not. Cars that are 15 years old and newer make up at least 1/3rd of the participants
You did not communicate how many cars were there total to give a feel of what percentage the 800 newer cars actually was.:poke:

It's a little weird... 2/3rd of the show is old cars and old swap stuff... the rest is newer crap that you could find anywhere, walmart parking lot material... I don't mind, in fact its cool there is a way to bring your late model driver into the show field. FCA had a test drive setup... all I could think is WTF I cant make it around the whole place in a day, why would you waste your time doing something you could do at your local dealer?

Just a joke. I appreciated you pics and posts same as the others. Glad you were there!
LOL... We ARE past that... :thankyou:

And I'm ok with sucking at picture taking... I even considered just giving the camera to live4theking's kids so at least someone would have fun with pics... I apparently am much better in the junkyard... but my ADD kicks in there too.

Good. Just wanted to clarify for the record.

I have to constantly remind myself that the metric Challengers/Chargers are just the same as a sixties muscle car in the seventies. The enthusiasm is high for these cars now and the local cruise nights always have their share on hand.

I don't care for them myself... but I do understand. They do a lot of things right... They go fast, handle decent, good MPG and they have A/C. It's no wonder people like them and want to participate in shows like Carlisle.

I don't spend my time looking at them... There's enough other cars and parts to keep me busy. As long as they don't start displacing the older cars, I'm fine with them.

Shame you couldn't attend the show... then you would understand... big hug (no kiss, no ****) and then we could just move on like the Mopar brothers we are.

Yes they do it all... but lack the beauty and class of yours and the ride of mine...Darn it, I've fallen for my parts car too... :drama:

I think my brother in law is the only person that makes it through the whole swap me but he practically runs and usually with the beer wagon in toe so I have to keep extras on me and then catch him in the next row as he is coming back. I did sit in a new Charger then quickly jumped out before my pocket started hurting.

the turnout of 26 Fuselages at my little BBTR show in Germany is even better.

Keep in mind if you drive 8 hours in any direction in Europe you could pass through 3 or more countries. I can drive 8 hours in Alberta and not get close to covering border to border. Calgary to Carlisle in a 46 year old car is a monumental undertaking for us folks on the west side of the country. What makes me angry is that we have nothing like Carlisle or Moparfest out West in Canada. Stupid representation by population game just like the politicians use.

It is a good show even if you don't bring a car. Most of the folks there go through the spectator gates.

Like I've said a couple times now in the convo there's nothing to move on from. I had no alterior motive with the simple poke. And i'd prefer if you quit bringing it up but I'm done asking you to stop

When I said for the record I meant public record. We are, and have been, fine in my mind..

Cheers

that sucks in a major way.

We have a decent solution overhere:
On most european Mopar shows as well as the best american car events the newer american cars are simply forbidden. You can not enter the show with it. I am happy about it. So our guys who have old&new cars have to take the old car if they want to be "really" in the show. Which they usually do

Carsten

just checked the pics of the german Mopar Nats I took last year:
there were 352 classic Mopars in total
86 of them were full size
37 of them were Fuselage cars

You can not have a Mopar event and exclude the new stuff, that's absurd.

I would say that most shows here have a model year cutoff date, but a national show like Carlisle brings in people from long distances and some people don't want to, or can't, drive their 40+ year old car those kind of distances. Plus Carlisle has the room for everybody, so why not ? If you don't want to look at the newer cars there is more than enough old iron to look at.
