3 speed manual trans

Quick question, would picking one up be worth it for parts for an A833? Noticed one for sale local.

Nick

The A-844 is a 4 speed transmission (New Process) that first appeared in 1964. Very durable and very rugged. Was offered in a variety of tail shaft lengths and a variety of input and output spline counts. You would need to be more specific as to what the transmission came out of as it does not readily interchange between A-B-C car lines. This transmission was also reworked in the'76 to early '80's as an overdrive transmission. The transmissions used behind BB and RB series engines are more valuable that the others. C-Body units are the hardest to find.

Most of the full syncro 3 speed parts are not going to be of much use on the 4 speed transmission. The other 3 speeds with the non syncro low gear are of no use at all for parts on anything but another non syncro 3 speed:
A-230 '70-'81, (Full syncro)
A-250 '73-'74 (Non-Syncro)
A-745 '61-71 (Non Syncro)

No, only thing the same is bell housing flange to trans mount distance.
NG unless you want a 3 speed.
Keep $$$ in pocket.
