Hi!
im trying to understand what the handle on my passenger side bucket are used for?
Does it do the same thing as the back lever release?, in the handbook it loks its cnnected to something looking like a piston

have the backing removed but cant figure out how it works.
when i pull the rod connected to the piston nothing happens. can it be stuck?

Yes, it is a reclining seat, wherein the seat back tilts back so a passenger can maybe take a nap during the trip. That reclining feature was on the Hurst seats and also the cloth bucket seats available as an option in 1970 on any model. It may well be stuck, but it is heavily spring loaded forward too.

You need to be sitting in the seat and leaning back fairly hard when activating the recline feature.

This hole. Shall it be there or have someone locket it?
