440 Intake Manifold Suggestions

You sound like you are doing what I am thinking about doing. Can I pick your brain a bit. I am getting a motor built for me 1969 300 convertible. I would like it to be a ton of fun to drive around town with the occasional log trip. How did you build turn out.
Hi, sorry for the delay.

The build worked out well. I did use the Edelbrock Performer so that I can close the hood. It was close, used a Carter AVS 4640S with thin gaskets so the air cleaner just clears the hood. I was looking for more torque than horse power.

Changed the rear end to a 3.23 Sure Grip, 2000 rpm stall converter, gets around 5-8 mpg depending how you drive it. Took it on a 1200 mile road trip.
If you wanted something with a bit more pep, perhaps 3.55's and a higher stall. Mileage will suffer, lol.

It goes pretty good, you can do burn outs if you want, but not a rocket ship. One day I'll take it to the track and see what it does.
