:sSig_greetingsthor: .......... :welcome: .......... Glad you found us....
Sounds like a very worthy car..... Value....? ballpark $3500.00 - $4000.00

Yikes! that little uh? I was thinking since it is a running driving, half way decent looking car it would be worth $10?

Thanks for the input

Welcome ......nice car.

Pictures would help with an estimated value assessment.

You registered a year ago... where have you been?

Bob is correct.... impossible to give an honest value without photos

very likely nowhere near 10K but the first guesstimate may have been a bit conservative. Pics would help, I'd love to see it.

If so, there are several things I see wrong with this car. Some of the up close photos of the car appear to reveal bondo work not to mention the big bulge or bubble at the top rear corner of the driver's side wheel well, just above the skirt.

This is NOT the original interior. If it had the optional leather the seats would look like this:

The lines in the upholstery on the eBay car go the wrong way. They look like replacement vinyl covers an upholstery shop did. The original vinyl seats for that car looked like this:

The "300" emblem on the glove box door is incorrect. This guy is touting the early build and everything, which is cool, but it isn't like it was the first one down the line. My car was built in Sept. '64 so there are others out there that are earlier, if that's what you are into. It's a cool car, but it isn't as "original" as this guy is making it out to be. It doesn't have the original paint or the original upholstery. I really wish people would learn the definition of "original".

Then my biggest pet peeve of all: screws in the door panels where they shouldn't be. The interior door panel should NOT have any screws in them and should look like this:

I'm very surprised this car has bid as high as it has. If I were in the market and had to have THAT car, I'd pay no more than $6K. It's a good car to start with if you are planning to tear it down and restore it. FWIW, I think his decode is wrong as well. I believe AM/FM radio to be V3 and seat belts to be Y8. My car is equipped with both and does not have Q3 or X8 on the Fender Tag (mine is actually on the firewall). If he gets north of $15K for that, it may be time for me to part with my fully restored example for $30K.

Scott, I am just amazed every time I see pictures of your car!!!

I think it's been bid beyond it's value already, Lots of poorly done lower body repair....wrong interior.... Lots of detail issues. Nice car for 8K.

Just goes to show there is a sucker born every minute, I know that's a quote from somebody. There wasa 66 charger at Norwalk this past weekend 9000 obo guy sold it wouldn't say exact just that he got close car had very decent interior bad carpet, n.o.m. engine but a nice 440 and no rust needed chrome bumpers and paint. Then there is one I've been watching near a place I load out of, rust in usual places really bad driver seat, no carpet lazy original engine car sold this weekend for 7500 I had offered 2500 a month ago.

Yes Sir that is the car! looks like he didn't like my offer of $12k on Sunday and must have listed on Ebay yesterday. The pictures he posted on ebay are more revealing than the emailed ones he sent me. He thinks he can get $19k but will take $17k. For being on ebay less than 24 hours, it appears the inexperienced ebay buyer community at large has determined it is worth more than our estimates.

So the next question is... Which one of my fellow C body enthusiasts is willing to sell me their 65 300 or L vert for the $6-8K range in similar condition?

Don

oops! sorry its on a 10 day. looks like it was posted before he and I discussed it on Sunday.

If he gets $17-$19K for that car, I am putting mine up for $35K.

Wow where that guy with $500 nyer I could fly out give him double, drive back and still make money selling it back here. That's about all the car I can swing right now maybe someday I can move up to a really nice one or dump my challenger and make the move. Maybe something will get me at carlisle one of these years that I just can't live without.

Scott she's a beauty! I'm in Orange County and have not seen yours locally. Have you shown it at the Spring or Fall Fling? I don't recall seeing it there. Thank you ALL so much for your replies and help.

Thanks! I'm up in the Pasadena area and don't make it down to OC shows very often. I've missed the past couple Spring Flings but it did win the 300 and 300 Letter Car Class a couple years ago. I also had a really nice 8 page spread in the Winter 2012 issue of Motor Trend Classic. Recently, it was on the cover of Hagerty Magazine.
