What is your motivation for a 66 Town and Country? I'm interested...

FWIW, I'm not motivated to sell, but real money talks. Real money, not For C Bodies Only money. This is likely a one of one Canadian car with the options and history. Located in Scotland Ontario Canada (near Brantford).

I have a 1966 Chrysler Town and Country 9 passenger. Ordered as a Dealer Demonstrator in Reginal Saskatchewan. Survivor, (60% original paint), factory 2 tone, 440 TNT, Dual AC, Autopilot, Search Tuner radio, Sentinel lighting. Year correct upgrades include Suregrip, Tilt/Tele, upgraded to disc brakes, search tuner radio converted to factory 1967 AM/FM search tuner using 66 faceplate (one could never tell), Kilo Speedo out of Finland, custom made Kilo Autopilot dial to match. Much work done, running and driving car. High mileage but truly loved and well maintained car. Everything works. Rust behind rear wheels, hardly noticeable. More info on request.

Was featured in 2016 in the Survivor display at Carlisle.

Comes with many NOS and stockpiled hard to find parts, including 4 yards of the correct material to do the front seat with.

Not perfect, but you could do a lot worse.

Engine pic taken prior to disc upgrade. Now has the correct disc booster and dual res master, and custom linkage to retain functional Autopilot.

Very nice Ross.

So the owner promised photos more recent than the 2012 ones posted. Seemed really nice on the phone. Apparently liquidating some of his 130 vehicles. Never got anymore photos of the interior or under the hood. I sent him a list of a bunch of sold 65 and 66 of which some were in the 20s and he seemed to get offended. Sent me the equivalent of "don't low ball me....I know what I got" before we even talked about a price.

I am sure for enough money it is for sale but I can't get him to name a price or send pics. That and the black with maroon interior has a hearse vibe when ideally I want a beach cruiser.
Probably pretty nice...and probably watches the auction shows...

I know wagons are becoming more valuable, but are nice examples really worth 30-40000 in the real market?

I havent seen anything over $22k and that is at Mecum and that is for minty and upgraded with awesome color combos. A nice one missing options that I wanted just went for $12k. That said people can ask whatever they want. No one wants to acknowledge corona, mass unemployment, or even recent sales. Im still looking despite a bunch of snow dropping in the last few days.

I think your right on the money....and he'll have his cars till the estate auctions them off probably

He already said his kids don't care about his collection....wanted to start consolidating....but then when pricing came up it became apparent he isn't really interested in parting. Oh well...I suppose Mecum will simplify the process for his heirs.

9 passenger is urban myth.
they are 8 passenger, count the seat belts.
yes, you can stuff more than 8 in.......

It is in the Chrysler and Plymouth lines, however Polara/Monaco advertise a 6 or 9 passenger wagon in the same year, '66.

the ads werent necessarily correct.
Sales brochure.

Guys I'm hoping to find a wagon so can we give the non related posts a rest?

What about the 3 row wagons built before seat belts were required? Were they 8 or 9 passenger? :poke:

please stop
If you are going to be a member here you better get used to threads going off track. It is the normal. The good thing is it keeps your thread relevant and near the top of the page so more people will see it.

Stinks that I'll likely have to unsub from my own thread because I keep getting emails about post for my search only to find its a bunch of people debating about the correct terminology on a 40yr+ wagon.

I'll stop. You want your wagon, and I'm all for that. But as @azblackhemi said, the thread will stay near the top. If you want to submarine your own thread, be my guest.

better get used to people offering advice and sharing information, its a community not a car search website.
perhaps when you've been here more than 2 weeks you'll relax and appreciate it.

Jez a lot of people got their feeling hurt by simply asking to keep relatively on topic. I've been on plenty of forums and have no issue bumping the thread now and then. I would counter that threads become unreadable when they stray for pages but I am new here so have at it.

Thanks, I needed that!

Trust me, if anyone here knows about a '66 Chrysler 3 row wagon, they'll let you know. There are members here who mainly look for cars that others may be interested in. As said, we are a community of car guys/gals and we love to help each other out when we can. It's all good. I hope you find your wagon, it's out there somewhere.
