66 NewPort speedo STICKS!!

Round 40 mph. my needle gets stuck. Do I have to pull the speedometer or does someone out there have a quick fix.:icon_eyes:

I'd start by making sure the cable is properly lubed.

I've got the same problem with my '66 Coronet. The speedo is stuck at 75 mph, but the odometer works like it should. I'm thinking about simply replacing the cable, as I have an NOS cable in my stash of '66 parts. You might try lubing the cable, as suggested.

lubing the cable was the first thing i did,binds in the gauge somehow, I can spin it from the trans end, and it will stick by hand. not lookin forward to disassembling my beautiful dash
