I saw this on on FB a few months ago, IIRC it was $4000-4500 and an older person's lost-interest car. It seemed a good prospect at that time.

I don't remember seller's name but I suspect is being re-sold by someone that awakened it - but either cannot get a BBM to run right (I do not see 'timing chain' in the list of new parts!!!), or the engine is tired?

1968 Chrysler 300 · Sport back coupe

Seller's description

This is my 68 chrysler 300 sport back coupe 2 door. I've done a ton of work to this car it's a factory special order posi trac 440 HP TNT option car. It has the original broadcast and dealer paperwork and tons of receipts from the work I've done. It needs alot of body work but could be something special.I feel the car needs more carburetor and timing attention it's lazy on power but fires up nicely needs some odds and ends exhaust rattles but with some more work it could become a decent rig alot has been done just needs a final push.

FT and what I got from a decoding site. Screws are unlike any I've ever seen used on a FT. ???
But the car looks legit, and screws/tag look to have been in place forever?

Id buy it! Might be lots of parts I could have as back or spare for mine!

Followup:
Last time I looked, it was down to $4600 and marked as sold.

I just asked the seller about the car - engine is still in car, can start it up and show it running to prospective buyer. Yes this guy did buy the car back in April.

I wonder if the engine truly doesn't have a VIN (dealer replacement engine?) or if he doesn't know where it is on the block.
Regardless, the car seems to have topped at $4-5000 in value, so convincing him to save it, well... I'm not going to waste my breath.
If it's not his kinda car, we can't expect him to appreciate what he's destroying.
