We saved this 68 300 convertible today. It was in one of those hoop style greenhouses used for hippie lettuce. That's a first for me lol.

So far it appears to be a k code 350hp 440-4 with A/C, cruise control, power driver seat and power disc brakes. It was last tagged in 1978 and shows 98xxx on the odometer.

Juat like the last C car (71 Monaco) and the one before that (67 300) we will get this one running and driving over the next 2-3 months.

At minimun it needs tires, brake service, tune-up, carb rebuild, gas tank dropped/inspected/cleaned, windshield replacement, all hoses/belts and hood hinge replacement/repair.

Once all of those items are addressed I will look into replacing the top.

Thank you for any insight on our latest rescue car : D

But seriously, nice car! Any pics from where it was sitting?

Sure do! My understanding is that prior to living in the hippie lettuce hut it was in a garage for several years as a grandfather-grandson project that was purchased from the original owner. I have the title with the original owner's name and am trying to track down anyone that might remember the car as it came from a few towns over.

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement I'll update this thread as I begin my mission of discovery.

We have a runner : D

After changing the oil/filter I swapped out the points for a Pertronix Ignitor, corrected the reversed wires at the coil and corrected the firing order. With a splash of gas it lit right off!

I have the AVS soaking overnight with plans of a rebuilt tomorrow after work. In additiin to that task the fuel pump will need to be replaced. My current hurdle is removing the locking gas cap. Any suggestions?

Do you have a tank grommet? perhaps remove the tube, or for that matter, just remove the tank your going to want to clean anyway?
