Ok I just bought a 68 radio am fm for my 300. I hope it is the correct one. I've never seen a fm radio and my am doesn't work. Can someone that has a fm in thir car tell me if it looks right? What is with the 4 holes in the corners? They supposed to be there? Also I don't have ac guess I'll just have to deal with the vents in my car.

You can cross reference the part numbers to the parts manual and that will tell you if it's right.

Ugh tried to send link. Guess have to just wait to see if i made a 275.00 mistake. Wouldn't be the first time bought something wrong.

Please if you have a 1968 300 with factory fm radio please post pic of it!!

Awesome thanks! ! Just odd that the ams were thumb wheel and the fms were knobs. I've been searching for years for a proper fm radio. I do like some music on my drives, and refuse to put an aftermarket radio in it even if hidden under the seat or glovebox.

Here's a pic of the radio in my 1968 Newport.
The 2 vents below the radio are only for A/C equipped cars. (if memory serves correct) They can be unscrewed and non-A/C block off plates installed if needed.
The overlay trim that you're missing is glued on. It's silver for Newport and woodgrain on New Yorkers. I do not remember what the 300 had.
The old 2 knob style aftermarket radios will not fit this trim piece as the factory knobs are wider spaced.

This is a correct 1968 am/fm - I believe that this radio is compatible with "signal seek" foot switch. It will work fine as is - but it would be very cool to get the foot switch set up as well!

Thanks guys I just have to locate a overlay. There is one for a nyer on ebay. My just have to buy it and paint it silver to get close. Hopefully my ac vent plates work as I don't have ac as of yet.

This is getting expensive. Got my radio and as I figured it didn't work but really nice shape. So off to get repaired. Looking forward to getting it working. Found the trim part but it is a nyer so it's woodgrain. Thing will sand down and either find paint to get close to rest of my dash or do it all flat black. Have to do something with it.

Thanks. I already sent it out. I just asked for it to work. I don't need the mp3/Bluetooth ect. They are totally refurbishing the radio for like 225.00. Some place in Alabama. They really seemed to know these mopar radios well. I know I could have just had my am converted but just really like the idea of the am/fm. Hope it turns out ok.

Thanks but the 2 block off plates fit. Now wish I could find the correct plate or trim piece. I bought a nos one but it's for a nyer and wood grain finish. May have to find someone to make one for me. Doubt I'll ever find the correct one.

That may be difficult. The thumb wheel style are more common. Keep checking ebay. There has got to be one out there somewhere.
