so we dont lose track of it. :)

SELLER Vehicle Description

1968 Plymouth Fury III 2-Door! 440 Big Block!! $3,999 PRICE DROP Nice dual exhaust system that sounds incredible - there is no mistaking the big block symphony sound when this car is running. 727B Torque-Flight Transmission (automatic) that has been rebuilt with approximately 5,xxx miles on it (according to previous owner). It shifts great, and the transmission fluid is clean.

Here is your opportunity to buy a reasonably priced old school luxury / muscle car with a Mopar 440 Big Block motor that you can drive and enjoy while you fix it up and make it even better. This car is a turn key driver that you can start, drive, stop, and go again. You can fire it up, and let the 440 Big Block just sit and idle and it will not overheat, etc.

The body on this car is straight with no major rust. The paint is driver quality and looks good overall with some flaws as expected. This is not a show car as it sits now (and it is not priced as a show car either). This Fury should make its next owner proud.

Someone could most likely invest some money in this car and be very happy keeping it long-term and/or have the option to re-sell it (most likely for a profit once the interior is finished).

This car needs interior seats recovered, a headliner, and carpet. It does not have heat or a/c. Speedometer does not work (other gauges do). Clean, clear title. Cash talks.

It looks to be a very cool car. I like this roof line too. it looks to have the HP exhaust manifolds.

What do the masses think this car is worth? The 3.99999999K its at now or $2.5K or somewhere in between or lower?

I've actually been watching this for a while and wish it were much better as I don't want a project but it keeps haunting me and I've resisted asking for better pictures (the ones I see on CL are not the ones here) and I hadn't seen any trunk, interior, etc pics prior to this

How long has it been for sale tallhair? A working healthy 440 is worth that isn't it?

IDK maybe a month or less.

Just got a new update in my email and I mean like right now ... note subject line is now $3.9K but original ad was $4.999K and still not updated. Flipper I'm assuming especially with the glitzy dream car language. My apolgies if a member here but I doubt a regular if so.

I think you should pass on this one Bryan unless you could steal it.
Nothing great about this car. Ho humm. And you're not a ho humm type of car guy.

Bypassed heater box mmm something just doesn't feel right about this one - definitely an on site inspection buy IMO

I totally agree Stan. It's just than I've been watching and waiting and it taunted me but I do wish it was a much better example as I don't have it me to resurrect a car and if I do somehow find it in me I have two sitting here that I can't muster the interest to do.

But it haunts me ... because I have several CL searches that auto email me and it keeps popping up. I keep wishing it were that silver fast top that the guys painted blue and put a stupid spoiler on (I mean before they did that) or something else that tripped my trigger like a fusey fury or polara. I would have been happy with something that looked like that and had a working heater and drove and stopped, and just drove it. I'm in IL and need a heater.

It looks like the PO removed the ac and bypassed the heater. Being in Texas, I don't care much about the heater but would definitely need the ac.

The paint on the hood and roof looks a bit rough, can't tell if it would buff/clay out to something more decent. Cracked dash pad... No repops on them. Carpet can be had for a couple hundred bucks, but the seats look tired. Would want to check all the rubber in the front (bushings and stuff) and see how the leaf springs are, chances are they are tired as well.

On the other hand.... It's a 440 with a rebuilt tranny. Could be a lot of fun. Assuming the motor is good, I'd bite at 3,000 if I was looking. 3,500 if it had a sure grip :)

Well I wouldn't buy it based on the pics. I would go see it if I was in the market. How much is a g99d working 440 engine worth these days.?

Are you sure it's a original 440 car....? Looks like a engine swap to me, and a poor one at that. Lots of loose ends on this car, nice body though.

Solid 440 and tranny should pull 1200 all day long. Hell, just the brackets and fittings are probably worth at least 1/2 that. And if those are hp manifolds on a c body then there's a 2-300 bucks. If it's a sure grip then there another easy 4-500 bucks.

That's my take on it at least. Is it perfect? No, but seems priced fairly based on the pics I see.
