I see a kiss of death in this one, at least for anywhere near the asking price.
Will be visible as I finish typing all of this.
No fendertag shown but does have a fenderwell-to-firewall brace that some 67-68 4-speed C-bodies have.

I'll post enough pics, but not all of them - remainder are here: https://vmp.ebay.com/ebay/viewAllPhotos.aspx?smid=54092869

Vehicle Description

Rare car, late 1990s restoration, rebuilt high output 383/330hp Super Commando engine with factory 4-speed manual transmission, 8 3/4 rear end, dual exhaust, straight rust-free body and floors, nice Regal Red paint, all original interior with bucket seats and console, car was meticulously maintained and garage-kept, fully serviced and hits the road great. A real gentleman's muscle car.

And here's the kiss-of-death I mentioned earlier.
It does have the factory-type VIN, but is state issued.
I wonder if it matches the sequence on the FT, and how well West VA verified that VIN to match the body shell 28 years ago?

Interesting that it does NOT have power steering.
The underhood is terrible for us purists, but the rest of the car seems really not bad.
They painted the door strikers, which I loathe, and painted 1 door latch but left the other original - why???

But price needs to drop significantly, and one buy with the assumption that it's not an original 4-speed - ergo the asking price should be commensurate with a converted/constructed car in similar condition.

she's up there purdy good price wise but from what I see -- IF there is no doubt (the state ID is not quite working for me without more details) confirmation in paper (documents) AND metal (the car itself) its REAL -- the asking price to start a dicussion seems ok to me.

Aint dissin' car or seller .. just that the car's pedigree should be unquestionable, or easily substantiated with some followup.

its got some other issues but overall i agree its pretty well done -- at a fair price ii'd be happy to own it. never owned a four speed slabbie and not likely to at any price this late in my collecting career, but I DO dig this car.

So I aint a player here, but I do hope it does well and finds a good new home,

Here is the thread where the 4-speed firewall braces are discussed. There are 2 braces involved, which I had not realized.
This car's braces seem correct for a 4-speed car - at the very least it's unlikely that anyone knew to add them outside of FCBO?

Definitely a repaint. It has the wheel lip moldings and inland shifter, both hard to find/duplicate, so that's something. One picture shows the wheel skirt, another looks like it was bond-o'd over? Am I seeing that right?

Pretty nice re-done car, but done by a Chevy guy. . . No fender tag and probably no broadcast sheet behind the rear seat back. I assume this car to be a "reconstructed car", so the upper five-figure price cannot be justified. And of course . . . No A/C!

The vast majority of 4-speed 67/68 C Bodies I have seen are manual brake/manual steering cars. I don't know if its because of packaging issues or if someone ordered a 4spd they wanted a stripped down model.

I agree, even with 4 speed, on a full size muscle boat I want ac. In today's inflation you can't building anything for the asking price, nevermind any pedigree.
I'll agree too. At first I didn't want it, one more thing to fix, now if/when I get back into this I'll look for a car that does.

Too much black underneath and painted door striker/latches. Someone shoot the painter, please.
