Is it accurate to say / does anyone know with some certainty that the only difference between the 1968 383/440 valve cover and the 1969 valve cover is the (heater hose??) bracket on the top of the PS valve cover?
AMD is out of the 1969 covers but I can get 68s - which i could then modify (grind off that bracket before painting) if that's the only difference. I'm not into the critical points thing, but I do like a "mostly stock" and over the decades have learned there's often some reason they did it the way they did.
I'm currently running the Mopar Performance (tall and wide) covers and I'm sick of the HP manifold on the PS cooking the gasket. I thought about sandwiching in a generic header flange (like: https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Big-Block-Mopar-Header-Flange,7297.htmlbut) to get the manifold away from that valve cover but that seems cheezy ... and the price difference to just get some correctish valve covers isn't a lot more after i replace studs in the heads, etc.
