'69 Fury III Convertible Build Thread- Project IVY

How often does the property flood, Nick...

Posted via Topify on Android
In the last 25 years, Twice, once in 2008 and now this year, this year makes 2008 look like a puddle.

Holy pontoon boat Batman !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is your Fury gonna be OK? I hope the water didn't get into your grandpa's house either
My Fury is still relaxing at my uncle's, my S10 is in the Garage, I'm worried about it, the house is perfect. I'm worried about my trailer too........the little green/white trailer is toast now...........

Good to hear Nick. The S10 should be fine as long as it doesn't get into the cab or the engine/trans/rear. The trailer should be fine too just let it dry out unless I'm missing something

Mother Nature really is throwing everything she's got trying to keep you from working on that car.
Now I understand what happened.
You thought you were saving that car when it was in fact a sacrificial offering to the gods.
You snatched it away from them and now you suffer their wrath.
Earthquake next...

So much for angel never seeing the rain then...

But it'll all come together, just give it time...

At this point Stan I figure I've been through Hell and Angel is about the most fitting name for this car that there is...............We've been through all that could be thrown at us............and we aren't giving up now, BRING IT ON, I'll be waiting right here to fight my way through it............Me and my Plymouth aren't going anywhere..........our cards can't be punched!

I'm expecting the day I first drive Angel for the skies to open up and it rain frogs........but thats okay because Like Gloria Gaynor ........I will Survive.....

Anyway, back to my personal Lake........

Nick

Back in my mud bogging days we would weld a short piece of internally threaded black iron pipe to the underside of the floor, then thread in a pipe plug from up top to drain water out of the floors. That is, if your truck HAD floors lol

We're still around, just busy........Saturday morning Angel will make the 90 mile journey.....Farthest my Fury has gone since 2006...Anywho, been bustin' my *** working on cleaning out the old crap-hole, There was boxes stacked floor to ceiling from the wall to the truck and from the doors to that white shelf.

Took 7 truck loads to the local salvation army, and ended up with a truck and trailer load that was 925 lbs that I took to the dump.

Good for you Nick ... looks like a really cool old garage to work in and have a beer or two after getting a job done. It reminds me of my brothers and Dad's shops. See a nautical theme going on esp with the sail boat model there.

Did you find any cool old stuff while you were cleaning up .. saw the plaques laid out on the hood of Gramps truck. Service stuff?

It's probably now sitting next to Ray's sleeper cab.
It didn't work great to begin with, then it got submerged in the flood.......I plugged it in, when it began to smoke I called it toast........
