71 Dodge Polara Brougham coupe

Got a package in the mail today...

Got the frame rail section back from the blaster. Needs a little work but very solid for the most part. Got some new metal to weld in, and it'll be just as good as the driver's rail in the car. Going to start working on it tonight. 45 year old sheet metal from the rust belt that looks like this...I'm sure it's the best I'll get without cutting up a super clean car. The NY looked great, but the more you dig... rust never sleeps.

Made one more patch from a chunk of Fury roof. This is going to repair the rust on the rear bumper panel. Enough for tonight start fresh in the morning.

I got the Polara moved over to the other side of the shop where the frame repair will begin. Had to wait for a boat to leave before I could move it over there. I didn't want to have it stationary near the lift. I also took the wheels, tires, shocks, and springs off the 73s rear end, and pulled the 440/727 off the front stub. Gotta get the discs off for Manny to finish our trade for some goodies for Minnesota. Just trying to break down the large parts of New Yorker still hanging around before I continue forward. Things are about to get scary and I can't wait to get that over with...

I've gotta ask, and sorry if you've explained before... tell me about that shop setup, please. Is that some sort of "clubhouse"? Or are you guys paying for space individually?

We all split the rent.
So it's a clubhouse, got it!
Outstanding! IMO that is a great way to get some real working space... so how many folks would like to move to the armpit of Florida to help me rent space like that? :D

Seriously, Thank you for the answer @71Polara383 , the world would be a better place if more car guys found a way to work like your "club".

It's great. Very very grateful I got hooked up with these guys...

I want to take my lift and compressor, rent an empty, long abandoned shop, garage, whatever and open up Commando's Rent-A-Lift. Hourly and Daily rates available.

Yea... only 147 redlights and a half dozen or so small town speed traps... I'm in if there's a beer fridge and place for the popup.

148. They just installed another set in front of the Avon Park Walmart.
It's freaking amazing down here. Traffic travels at 9 mph and all the Letters to the Editor are to complain about the speeders on 27. :BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

or so small town speed traps...
Those effing traffic cameras in Lake Wales. Can't tell you how many times I have been extorted to replenish their "General Fund." :mob:

I personally was a fan of the close together lights a little north of you... red light cameras and yellows set to flash once before changing. Ain't Florida relaxing?

Frame rail has been cut out and spliced. Had my dad help me get it in this afternoon. Very happy with the results. It was not very scary at all. Some more trimming and fitting and it's trunk pan time :steering:

More progress. Rail is 95% done. Its back on the ground. Drivers side quarter extension is roughed in. Im really hoping for trunk pan over the weekend. We'll see....

With all the metal work going on, Nick's car, your car, you guy's are making it look easy. I am starting to feel bad about not getting some small projects done
