Yes, 360. Surprising to order a 360 on the top-of-the-line Dodge. This said, I'd venture a 360 does pretty well compared to a 400-2bbl. If I could find the right 1971 Polara 2dr or sedan (no 4dr Dodge hardtop for me) with a 360, I would not think twice.

Agree , the 360 in the 71 is a better engine than the 73s.
The 73 is a bit heavier I believe than the 71.

A 71 360 I've done before and I'd do it again .

If there's such a thing as a "bare bones" Monaco, this is pretty close to it. Only option I see on this car is a/c. Base 360-2v, no p/w, pdl, cruise, no vinyl roof.

Indeed. And yet, it manages not to look the least bit basic. The front-end design, plush interior, and color combo all contribute to that overall impression.

360 was the standard Monaco engine. around 26% of Monacos had the 360 2v, most had the 400 2v at 62%

there was a 400 4v but looks like it was mainly for police cars 27% of em.
0.2% of all Monacos had the 400 4v around 36 cars
around 11.5% had the 440 4v

In 73 who was using a Monaco as a police car?
In 74 My grandfather ordered a 74 Monaco sedan with the 400-4. I presumed it would have been available for 73.

no idea how the 36 Monacos had em, govt agency, special ordered or just using up supply ?
