As I am new to Mopar products and I bought me a "Chrysler" which seats about twenty... I wanted to ask in this forum:
Last year I bought my 1973 Imperial from California (Merced?) and it seems to have some history, at least between California and Pennsylvania - or more.
The VIN is YM43T3C292171, the color is Amber Firemist Metallic with green vinyl roof and green Cologne leather inside.
When it arrived in Austria last fall, it had 92.974mls.

When I googled the VIN there was one result from an old ad in Pennsylvania - and a thread in this forum which a can´t find anymore.
Does anybody know more about this landyacht?

Thanks in advance,

Thanks Martin, but no:
That one has the vent windows, which mine doesn´t have (and I don´t really care for because of wind noise and weatherstripping)
The drivers seat seems to be newly upholstered, too.
Otherwise it is looking quite similar - I like that green... ;)

I found my copy of the thread, but Search didn´t bring the whole thread back - there were some other comments I would like to read again.
Maybe someone remembers?

Found this from 2020, seems to have been updated in March 2021.
Still no one is remembering?

Well, in the "...NOW into INFINITY" thread it is mentioned twice, bot not much about the time before 2020.
So I started to read the older listing...

...and visited her today, as I brought the new windshield to the shop.
Didn´t want to open the hood, because the windshield was on top - don´t want to break it, I waited 6months for it.

Haha, it´s gettin´ closer - the VIN-Tag shows "522", so just 2 days apart form May 24th of 1973.
Which one is more realistic: The decal in the door - or the tag?
Or does the tag just tell us what was planned?

I believe the tag was first, then the sticker was installed on the actual production line during production.
522 being the "scheduled production date".

While i am waiting for the correct wishbone bushings (lower and upper) i tried to correct some old photos of the Imperial, which came with the car.

Are those bushings really different from NYBs or other C-bodies?
They were delivered in wrong dimensions twice now...
Maybe Chrysler changed the dimensions during the production year?

Who knows more about them - or who can deliver them in the correct size?

And my taillights are from a 1972 model - don´t know why they have been altered in the past.

Yes Imperial upper and lower control arm bushes are different from other C bodies. The whole front end is different (Idler arm, pitman arm, tie rod ends, lower and upper ball joints). The only thing that is the same is shocks, the strut rod/reaction rod front bushes and sway bar end link bushes.

No bushings for the lower control arm are available right now, so the existing nearly-right bushings have been used as is - and welded with the lower control arm.
The upper control arm bushings could be found (after some search) and were added as they should.
Now there ist just the handbrake lever rope, which is missing and takes time to be delivered.
Or we can build it on our own, which should be possible...

Not so bad concerning rust.

Are there any high-res pictures of the original hubcaps, when they were new?
It seems the Imperial Eagle here has seen better days...

Hello Joerg!

Here is a link to the '73 Imperial sales brochure. One picture shows the hubcap. I hope it helps...
