Always best to use OEM production parts when possible. From the aftermarket gears I've seen from some vendors (especially the "low cost" manual trans parts), the metal has a different look to it and a different "ring" to it when tapped. The gear brands that are aimed at the drag race/racing markets should be the better aftermarket stuff, I suspect. FWIW
