78 NYB in eBay look at the price

Californians beware! That Eddy carb won't pass smog, neither will that after-market air cleaner.

But it does have the "ultra rare" 440!

Only 40% of the 1978 NY'ers had 440's. The 400 was the standard engine for NY'er in 1978 and about 50% of them had 400's. The 440 and 360 were option engine for 1978. Couldn't get a 440 in California or high altitude areas. The 360 was mandatory for high altitude areas.

Ugh. That poor car. It suffers from the same tail pipe affliction as my Newport (mine was installed by the PO)...

Even so, 40% does not equate "ultra rare."

While I can't see the invoice in great detail so did this car come from the factory with the red pinstripes since they are definitely taped on.

With magnification it appears the stripes are on the option list of the invoice.

Insanity!! I own two Formals and I hope someday they might appreciate in price but this is NUTS! Heck you can pick up a decent early 60's Imperial or New Yorker for less than what this thing is being bid up to!
