so I’ve been like looking for a center section for my 67 Fury wagon. It currently has an open 742 with 2.76 gears.
I wanna be able to shred tires at will.
I found a local to me 489 case with small yoke and 3.91 Richmond gears. Will this work for me as a direct swap? I’m thinking no because of the yoke I think?

Yes you need a conversion U joint. 7260 to 7290. Your local parts store should have it.

It’s got a 383 with a fresh Edelbrock 4bbl.

Might I have spline issues with this 489 center section?

No the axle spline counts are the same

What fluids are recommended for this swap. I wanna have everything I need on hand for when my buddy comes over to help me out

Heavy weight gear oil and limited slip differential additive if it's a sure grip. Rtv or gasket glue and new gasket.
