Last December thanks to heads up from @T-revorNobody and a few other buddies, I was able to acquire this roller.

SOLD - Not Mine 1972 Dodge Monaco Wagon - $1,250 - Damascus, Va.

Here and there over the summer I've been gathering parts. Last night it moved again under its own power in who knows how long. Figured I'd start this thread and begin posting pictures.

The interior was in rough shape but thankfully in the back there were a decent amount of the parts that had been removed.

Engine bay looked decent and so did the underside. Only real issue was a couple holes on the left floorboard from wet carpet. Shouldn't be too difficult to patch. Ironic how the rot was from the top down, not underneath.

Had a stranger pull over in front of my house and ask if I wanted to buy a used 440. Story given is that it was out of a Warlock that at one time ran 13's. I rolled the dice and gave the man $300.

Looks good Paul. Wagons are definitely in for 2021.

Here's a pic of the perfect grill I was able to purchase from @kyle340

BOUGHT AN IDENTICLE "PARTS WAGON"
This past January I was able to purchase a wrecked wagon that I've been swiping parts from.

It was almost optioned exactly as this one, with the exception of electronic ignition and coolant overflow reservoir.

It came in handy for all the engine brackets needed, battery tray, and the transmission.

Here's the thread from when my Brother in law and I picked it up down in Oklahoma.

Great thread @BLIMP !

Could you possibly post more pics of the coolant overflow bottle setup, in the original car and as installed now? Did it fit right in? How does it compare to a ‘73? Part number would be great too.

Jeez... you'd be done by now if everyone wasn't always sitting around :poke:

Nice save

One of the things I had to swap was the truck oil pan. Also had to knock out the little aluminum plug in the block that's installed in the dipstick tube hole (apparently the truck engines use a dipstick mounted to the oil pan). Interestingly enough this block isn't stamped.

You buried the lede...you have 533k miles on your truck?!?!

I was urgent to get the driveline in while looking for either the stock version that an Edelbrock would operate correctly on, or a good used aftermarket aluminum example. Ultimately I got out the dremel tool and carved enough material away so the butterflies had a full range of motion.

Ah! You know they make spacers for that too :D
I probably had one in the toolbox.
Used intakes are precious right now for sure.
