We got to talk to Wild Bill Shrewsberry the OG driver of the hemi under glass. He is the guy who brought Bob Riggle onto the team. It was a quiet time in the morning and we talked for about an hour. The stories he told were awesome. He toured Europe and did a lot of USO shows with the car. He RAN it on the deck of an aircraft carrier !!!! George Hurst was a Navy guy yaknow. I brought up the LA Dart and he was tickled pink he said we don’t remember that one too much any more. Super nice guy made my whole birthday weekend.
Quote of the week was Wild Bill “ well you know guys when we started it was just a stock hemi...” , my brother stopped him and said wait did you just say “just” a stock hemi ? He chuckled and said yah I guess I just did. Rare Air.
