I would go with 12 points as they have a nice flange and are easy to maneuver with a socket.

Thanks 77newyorker440 for your opinion, I thought this would be somewhat of a topic of interest.
I read somewhere that with the 12pt bolts you can get to the bolts without removing the rockers but not sure if that applies to Edelbrock rpm heads on a 383. I have a set of eddy’s rpm 84cc from 2002 before there was much choice on aluminum heads and there still in boxes so I’m looking at head bolts. They came with 2 studs for the rocker assembly with a 12 pt. nut so maybe I will make it all 12pt.
