Hi guys can anyone recommend the best quality outdoor waterproof cover for my car.
I’ve no choice but to keep it outside and I know no one can claim 100% it’s waterproof but would anyone have any experience with a good quality cover they would recommend. I’m in Dublin Ireland so naturally rain and bad weather is frequent.
Thanks very much
Kind regards
Cian

Will your car be stored on a solid surface, such as concrete? If it will be stored on grass or dirt, and you put a 100% waterproof cover on it, you will create a greenhouse effect, where the moisture from the ground will come up and have nowhere to escape and will rot the car from the underneath. I have a friend with no indoor storage for his Buick
and has to keep his car in the yard. He bought a 10ft x 20 ft rubber/vulcanized mat for under the car and a breathable outdoor car cover.

It will be stored on concrete yes.
Thanks for the above advice

Mice and critters are your biggest threat with outdoor storage. If I were you, I would be looking into something more secure. I understand that some folks don't have those options. Nice Car!

I've been using California Car Cover covers for years. The only el-cheapo covers I still have are used inside my garage to keep the dust off the paint. If any one of the cars needs to be parked outside for any length of time, I buy the correct texture California Car Cover for it.

I even have a pair for my motorcycles ('74 Norton Commando and '2018 Triumph Bonneville T120)

I actually had to use the Triumph cover for the past couple of weeks as my garage was full of fenders and floor pans for my '57 Courier restoration project and here wasn't any room for the bike. Add to that we had a LOT of rain up here in eastern Mass in the last couple of weeks.

I don't like that company, they won't send any samples, other companies do, i went with covercraft. They fit nice, California car covers are way spendy, but my stuff is inside.
The scribe asked for the "Best Quality". I gave him my opinion of the best. They usually do cost more.

FWIW, the last 2 car covers I bought from California Car Covers were shipped to me directly from Covercraft.

I know how you feel, it's hard to keep a car outside in Irish weather. I've tried a few "waterproof" covers, and to be honest, most of them just trap condensation underneath, which is almost as bad as the rain itself.

Changing to a custom-fit cover that fits my needs worked for me. It doesn't flap around in the wind because it fits snugly around the car, and the material lets air flow through it, so there won't be any nasty moisture build-up underneath. Much better than the ones I tried before that worked for everyone.

I ended up getting a 3D custom-fit cover and it has held up well in the usual Dublin weather, which includes rain, wind, and the occasional sun. The snug fit makes a big difference.

I hope that helps. If your car is outside all year, it's definitely worth going custom.

Delaware, India?

....and I also have one for my '48 Chrysler seven passenger sedan and that's a really big cover.

Hello! I was reading through the original post since I am also looking for a good cover. One of the brands suggested was Seal Skin. But my cars antenna does not come off or retract and the cover doesn’t accommodate that. I saw your picture-which brand do you have and do you have an issue with the antenna and the cover? Seal Skin offers a patch to use. Not sure if it will set it up for leaking. She’s no beauty queen at the moment but it’s an investment I’d like to have last until she is.. lol! Thanks
