Best place for jack stands

I just picked up a beauty of a 1970 Chrysler Newport but I'm looking to replace some items on the suspension. Can anyone provide pictures or advice on where I should set my jack stands? I picked up a factory manual but I can't find anything regarding the use of jack stands, only info on using jacks for swapping a tire, etc... While setting the stands up under the rear axle is an option out back it won't let me get to everything that I'm hoping to. Any advice or thoughts are more than welcomed. Thanks!

I usually just try different spots until it stops crunching when you're setting it back down....
