bought another car but not a c

One of my friends bought a '77 Coupe, used. Emerald green metallic with the white vinyl roof. Green interior. 400M 2bbl. After some re-tuning, hollowing out the converter, it ran pretty decent.

After his usual additions of polyurethane sway bar link bushings, with some Monroe HD shocks, it rode firmer and cornered flatter, with the Michelin X tires that were on it OEM. But still with the Lincoln characteristic smooth/quiet demeanor. "Just right".

Neat thing was that one weekend night we were out running around and a 4-dr version, same color, pulled up beside us. Everybody did a double-take.

A solid, reliable car. No doubt about that. Even decent fuel economy with the cruise at 55mph.

Enjoy!

the car actually came from
Follansbee wv. it was sitting there for sale at that detail shop for a while as soon as you come into town that is were some ******* tried to get the vinyl top to to come off on the rh side under the back window. when it was in weirton did you see what the price was on it?

Yes . . . I thought it was. I saw it a couple months back, driving into south end of Weirton from 22. Stopped and gave it a pretty good look-over. Thought it looked pretty sweet, but just not quite what I'm into. Pretty rare - they sure didn't make many of these in the 2-door style! Sorry, I don't remember exactly what price he had on it - seem to remember it was maybe in the 8-10K range. Funny thing is that I rolled into Weirton last Saturday, looked over, but didn't see it . . . was wondering "gee . . . did somebody buy that old Lincoln???". Glad it went to a good home!

Nothing wrong with these, nice/comfortable luxo-cruiser. White & red sure is attractive, seems to be a nice one too. Don't think I have seen a 2-door coupe before, the styling works better than would have guessed. New tires will definitely help. Good luck with it.

a friend of mine has a garage and this was one of his customers. about 4-5 years ago when he told me that he knows somebody selling a 2dr lincoln i think it was $7500 more than i wanted to spend. then a last week he called me and said it was $4000 i took it home for $3700

After tires what are your plans for it

being it has to sit outside because i have no place to put it and being winter i would like to take it drive it occasionally since there is nothing sitting in front of it that does not run unlike my newport. the only thing i would like to do is have a nice exhaust put on it.

My friend owns a 44000 mile 66 Fury III 4DR hardtop AND a 76 Town Car. At my work we did dual exhaust on the Lincoln.
We cut the crossover pipe and welded front pipies of the same diameter. We used Dynomax Super Turbos with the longest body available. Tailpipes were Walker replacements for an 88 Town car or order for a Crown Vic Cop Car. We had to weld pipe to the tailpipes but at least they are much cheaper thsn bending tailpipes from scratch. Fits perfect sounds great and quiet on the highway.. The tailpipes exit right at the rear bumper so they do not stand out.
Hope this helps
