Hi-

I’ve been looking for a ‘69 or ‘70 Chrysler 300 and I may have found one…but the seller said the brake booster is missing. I’m wondering how much it costs to replace the brake booster and how difficult it is to track one down? Maybe it’s not worth it? Thank you for any advice you have.

Rather than rely upon aftermarket parts listings to determine which one you need, head over to www.mymopar.com (might need to manually input that address) and free-download a 1970 Chrysler factory service manual and the accompanying Chrysler parts manual. Those will detail which brand of booster was used on your particular vehicle. Power 4-wheel drum brakes or Power disc/drum brakes. THEN you'll know what to look for.

Just some thoughts,

The reality is that what was "bread and butter" in the middle 1970s had generally vanished from the shelves by 1980, as newer parts (which sold) needed shelf and warehouse space. Which could have been hastened a bit by the platform change for the 1974 model year. Similar for 1979. That's just reality in the in the realm of parts inventory management to make money.

Enjoy!

Rock Auto says the Cardone 5473600 is used on all C-body cars (including Imperial) for the years 1969 and 1970, but they have none in stock.

You might have to go with something like this:

Leeds has maybe a dozen choices, I know nothing about how well they actually fit, or work.
