trying to get off to clean terminal corrosion, before I go and break some clip or something, thought I'd seek advice for removing, thanks.

There should be detent locks on the inside of the car holding it in as well. You will have to probably use a small flat tip or a knife.
 
Eezy peezy lemon squeezy :D

There is 4 mteal clips holding the bulkhead connector in place.

Using a large flat bladed screw driver or stiff scraper simply press the clips in towards the bulkhead connector and it should pop back into the passenger compartment.
