Is it worthwhile to join a Mopar club with my car being a 1969 Plymouth Fury iii? Or is there a club for C bodies?

If you are lucky enough to have a Mopar club in your area you should go for it.
You may like it or hate it. Gotta give it a try to find out.

It IS a Chrysler product! No worries if it is a 4-dr sedan, it's still a Mopar.

There are NO generic car clubs! The people and personalities in the club give that particular group the character it has, although the main reason is the love of Chrysler products. Have to go and see.

There are tons of Facebook car clubs! Some good, some not so good, as to the knowledge base in or not-in them. From what I have seen. BUT some of the Facebook groups are tied to actual car clubs in an area. The FB groups can be good for networking with others in your area.

As mentioned, do a Google search for Mopar clubs in your area. Might have to drive a bit to their meetings, which are usually monthly. There are some national clubs, too, as the Walter P. Chrysler Club, which is involved with the "Chrysler 100" event at this year's Chryslers at Carlisle event this July. Mopar Nats is the 2nd weekend in August, every year, too.

What I really liked to see was the "Young Guns" area at the Mopar Nats.

ONE thing to NOT forget is that your Fury III 4-dr sedan is just as much of a Mopar as any 'Cuda convertible with a factory 426HEMI in it. NO MATTER WHAT!

Now . . . when at a weekend cruise event, I'd take my '67 Newport 2-dr hardtop to the event. I'd be with our Mopar club people, all in a line. Although I had the hood up on the Chrysler, all spiffed and clean, with a factory dual snorkel air cleaner and painfully OEM stock. People would walk by, glance, and then walk right on to the wide valve cover, multi-carb cars in the line. Whick kind of miffed me back then. Or admirers would say something like "My grandparents had one like that . . ." which I accepeted but was not over-joyed with. BTAIM It happens!

You WILL be joining the club to network with other Mopar enthusiasts, no matter their vehicles. THAT and to have access to their knowledge base of Mopar vehicles. Finding the right group can take time, so attend their meetings make friends. See how it goes and enjoy what happens.

Check out the YouTube channel of "Uncle Tony's Garage". In an earlier segment, he talked about how the original Chrysler Hemi V-8's heritage lives on in the LA318 V-8s. Some of his best videos were several years ago, it seems, as to information.

Take care,

The closest you'll probably come to a club for C bodies would be the Plymouth Owners Club or the WPC Club, both of which are national clubs and very encompassing of all the years and body styles. I belong to the National DeSoto Club and have really enjoyed the friends I have made, as well as attending the annual conventions and seeing different parts of the country. My advice would be to join one or both of the ones I suggested and try to make one of their national meets. If you end up not liking it, you can simply not renew. Both club memberships will come with a magazine subscription as well.

Your other option is to see what you have for a local Mopar club. I have one by me that I have made many good friends with, but it is primarily muscle cars (which I enjoy too). As @Darter6 said, you have to try them to know.

A car club is what the members make it, any club! I was born into a Street Rod club in 1972. My parents were some of the founding members of the Mid Michigan Street Rod Asso in 1970. We had a great time for many years. My dad was a lifetime member until he passed. The club had ups and downs depending on who was leading and what members were being active. I have been a part of other clubs that never lived up to MMSRA in comparison. Like others have said you have to try it to know.

This is very accurate. Each club has their own dynamics due to the membership of it. Have to "try them" for, say, six months or so. Do NOT read online reviews as these can be covertly malicious in nature. One member gets "done wrong" by another member and "instant negative review" happens, which is not indicative of the total group.

If you are seeking information, it can also take some time to determine who has "correct knowledge" and who "talks a good game", too.

Some clubs operate their meetings like "a meeting", every meeting. Others not so much. Some people desire a more regimented environment as others want a fun environment with few rules. Variable situations! In prior times, of the middle 1980s when our North Loop Dodge Performance Team (now Cowtown Mopars Performance Team) was started, the club meetings were where you found out about other Mopar clubs and their club shows and such. Plus local cruise-in events and other car shows. Now all of that stuff is all over the Internet and Facebook.

Car event season is in full swing here in TX. Maybe just getting started back up in your area. Go and have fun! You don't have to join immediately! You can attend and see if you want to join later on.

Also, while not particularly applicable to your Fury, the National DeSoto Club that I mentioned I belong to and enjoy will be having this year's convention right in nearby Akron. I plan to attend with my '59 Fireflite. Feel free to stop over on show day (Saturday, June 28th) to see all of the DeSotos and drive the Fury if the weather is nice! Details are in the link in this thread: National DeSoto Club Convention - Akron, OH, June 25-29, 2025
