Carter 2 barrel carb

Hey Guys, I need to rebuild the carb on my 68 Newport 383 but am not positive of what the carb is. I ordered the Hygrade kit 1565b but it came with NO rebuild instructions. I have been searching the web for rebuild instructions but all of the carbs are a little different than mine. There is no metal tab on mine so I am kind of lost. I think it is a BBD 1 1/2” but as I say the rebuild instructions I see show a similar but different carb. I am not really comfortable pulling the carb apart without instructions as I won’t know how to properly adjust it on rebuilt.

Try looking online for "Mike's" in Chehalis Washington. I had an oddball question, and located an early 60s Chevy TSM which covered Carter AFBs in their tech library, which was really helpful. Spoke to them once on the phone, and they were really helpful there, as well.

i have the same bbd 2 bbl carb on my 68 newport ... i rebuild it using napa kit... see pics
