Cool machine. It sucks when your body can't keep up with your mind and vice versa. Good luck with the sale.

Im Young, Dumb, Full of Cu......energy.

I would love to learn to drive that thing. I should probably practice on something crappy first.

Yes. My first pass down the track was in a Ford Escort. Not something I'm proud of. Start with something mild & work up to faster cars

Once or twice out with a street car to learn how to stage and where to turn off etc. Then take the race car out and just take it easy with it. You could do a throttle stop and try to keep it in the 11 second range if you really wanted to.

My only thought is the car was set up for 1/8th mile. A change of gears might be needed and a little thought about the car going ~140MPH rather than 110. Should run a 9.50 in the quarter.

You didn't beat the crap out of your Mom's car on Friday night test and tune at your local track? LOL!

It's not a quarter mile car. When I drove it last fall I coasted accross the quarter stripe at 10.50 @ only 93 mph. So yes it would be a 9.50 car. It shifts at 6700 & traps at 6400 eight mile with the Powerglide & a 5:00 gear

I really need to thin out my projects ( 'to do' or 'will never get done' ) department, so that I have a supply of Fun Coupons on hand for moments like these... :-)

That's a bunch of gear. What's it 60? Pull tires?

When I drove it Wayne tightened the front shocks & set the 2 step for a 3K launch. He said it got a foot of air on a 1.30 60 foot. Loosen the front & launch at 3500 & it get 3 foot of air. He didn't want my rookie AZZ to crash his car

Ok as far as what it cost to build this car. Don't put this in stone as Wayne is going off memory. Here is what he told me. He bought the car from a fellow racer who was getting a Divorce so he got a deal. The ex's lawyer had called & asked where the car was. So Wayne got it for 6 grand with a trailer. It had a 383 B motor, 727 & 8 3/4 rear. Ran 7.30's a heck of a deal. So Wayne started racing it. It kept breaking the rear. So Wayne ordered the Fab 9 rear. 3500 bucks. Shipped to his door from Chris Alston. Then he had the 440 built by an racing engine shop I think he said out of California. Had it shipped to his door $10,000. Racing trans Powerglide style. He thinks it's a JW with an Ultra bell to bolt to the RB MOPAR. $3500 bought 2 converters 3500 stall & 4500 stall. Both over a grand each. I think it's a 950 Dominator from either Quick Fuel or Barry Grant. Another grand. Ladder Bars & coil overs about $1500 repainted the car a little over 3 grand. So what does that come too. A little over 30 grand. All the little stuff that adds up. Converter updates & repairs & the labor to have much of this stuff done. You got a $35,000 dollar car for $14,500 that runs 6.0's and pulls STRONG well past 6500 RPM.
