That would work. 4 stand offs from the valve covers to hold up a glass top and you're done.

Just make sure they are tall enough to clear the 2x4 intake and carbs that I'm sure you have stashed for it.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys........ Just what I needed.
I thought i'd use the intake end mount holes for the stand off's to support the glass top. That should keep the table top at a useable height. An induction system will hide the lovely valley cover. Lose the fuel pump, water pump and make blank plates for it and the back side of the block.
I should get right on it.....!
