I found a seat for my truck recently. It's black with blue piping, but I want to dye the seat Saddle Tan. The upholstery is new, and I got a great deal on it. I've dyed dash pads, door panels and such before, but they don't exactly get direct wear like a seat does.

Anyone have any ideas or tricks on getting a durable and quality-appearing spray-can dye job on a seat?

I would certainly use an adhesion promoter (Bulldog) and put extra coats on the seating area so it takes longer to rub through. I would probably put a towel or some kind of cover while driving to also minimize the wear. If you do it keep us posted on how it lasts.
