I just had the pleasure of meeting Jeff (Cantflip) for breakfast. Great conversation and a true pleasure. I don't know if I can make it to Carlisle this year but I'm going to try a little harder now. Thanks Jeff.

Did you go junkyarding with Jeff???

No "Yarding" this trip, just met for breakfast. Jeff was in my area and we had the opportunity to meet at a restaurant for a couple of hours. It's nice to have time to meet other members and shoot the breeze. I wish I had time to do more of that and meet more members. Maybe Carlisle, I usually spend so much time searching parts at Carlisle that it doesn't leave much time for socializing. I have to change that habit.

It’s hard to walk away from the parts.

Exactly. I met Big_John and Ripinator (and Al Moon from the 300 Club), and spent the other 48 hours searching and talking to unknown people about restoration, parts sources, etc. Didn't even allow much time for looking at show cars. This time I hope to meet more C-Folks.

Looks like I’ll be able to make it for Saturday only. I usually spend most of the day wandering through the parts vendor rows. 10:00 am for the photoshoot again?

@cantflip, your in the area? Why? Hope things are okay.
How long? I'm off this week.
Everything's good... Mom turning 70, step-father turning 80... I have 5 step sisters and a step brother I first met 21 years ago, this is the first time we had all of the children together for them since the wedding. Shooter lives a few miles from Mom, so making sure I got to spend a few minutes with him was a no brainer for me, and I neglected to make it happen a couple years ago when I was up here junkyarding.

I wish I had time to see several others, including steel haulers on the other side of town... but it's been a busy weekend. Today was my first chance to log in. I'll be home tonight, and I'll help you consume a few beverages next month.

I wonder which Boeing model I'll be riding home tonight...

I'm always happy when my flight doesn't make the news...

I do want to whine for a moment about southwest... I hate their cattle call, no seat assignment system. I upgraded my tickets, was the second in line, and the azzoles still preboarded 2 guys right to the emergency exits. Fortunately my Monday night flight wasn't full and a wound up sitting sideways in a row to myself... $20 earbuds and wifi movie on my phone helped drown out the children on my "Mickey Special" flight home.

The exact reason our company won't book us on Southwest.
"Mickey Mouse" on soooo many levels.

That reminds me of a defunct airline that I flew on a few times from Buffalo to Newark. We were doing a drilling job in NJ back in the early '80s. It was called People Express. It was pretty much a Fred and Barney operation. You basically got handed a boarding pass, just to make sure they didn't over fill the plane, seating was general admission, everyone scrambling for their favorite spot and once the plane took off they would come down the isle with a cash register and you paid for your ticket mid flight.
One time, one of us had his work uniform on and someone asked him if there was something wrong with the plane! LOL.
$99.00 that was cheap back then.

Back in the '70s, the Eastern Airlines shuttle to from DC to NYC did the same thing with a cash register / credit card cart they rolled down the aisle after takeoff. Ya couldn't even get a drink of water on those flights. Gawd! I hated that whole scene. Was doing it every Friday and Monday; then I discovered the Amtrak Metroliner: downtown to downtown in three hours and ten minutes.
