Fender tab question

I’m monkeying around under the hood of my 70 convertible and have wondered for a while about these tabs on the inside of the front fenders, up towards the windshield.
What is the purpose of these tabs?

Check to see if you have a flat spot in the hood above it. It may be a mount for a hood bumper.

Hood Bumpers, In 69 it is a hole (no slot), almost impossible to put them in with the hood on.

Hey Sgt! I need a pair of the rubber hood bumper stops that go on the inner fender tabs up towards the windshield.
I posted a photo of where they go at the beginning of this thread.

The problem with used bumpers is that they dry out and when you try to pull them off, the ends break. There are repro's out there, try Van's or DMT. I think DMT might have them, but they are listed under B body parts, pretty sure they are the same.

Cleared a spot.
I cannot get hood open on NY right now. It’s stuck in the mud in my backyard.
A side note to anybody trying to get ahold of me.
Here in California we have had
record breaking rainfall and even
historic snowfall????
I’ve had trees and fences falling over.. Everything is a mess right now. Good news is the 5 year drought SHOUD be over?
