So...tell us about that 'stock' looking engine. Is this going into a cbody??

Lol! Its going in my 68 fury. Im going to pull the stub frame and rebuild the whole front end and por15 it. The engine is the matching numbers 383 stroked to a 496 with an f1 procharger. Dynoed at just over 1000hp on 110 octane and 16LBs of boost. Going to be using pump gad with meth injection. Just want to surprise some people with everything tucked under the hood!

I'm thinking you may get your wish and then some....... :wideyed::D

yes all my b motors use them . it makes rb dizzy's fit no issues , and there is a lot more of them rb dizzys out there . i've come up with a unit to adapted a chevy v8 to early hemi's and poly motors . way nicer then hotheads set up . here is a pic of it . makes timing it easier as well . grab clamp over the fork , keeps the walk out of my vertex mags .

your new motor trans package is going to need some upper dated brakes n suspension and r/e as well , all that power is going to over everything else .

I have definately taken that into account. I have a front and rear ssbc disc brake kit for the car and am having my engine builder weld in subframe connectors. The whole front end is coming apart for a full rebuild and paint. Still dont know if i should rebuild my 8 3/4 or go dana 60.

dana with 40 or better spines , track lock'r will drive nicer then a limited slip , but straight line launch it spool or tighten'd up limit'd slip . i'm sure there is a d200 or f250 just waiting to get that 60 pluck'd out of it , and built it with those thick axle tubes , for less flex . don't forget about your suspension , that r/e is not going to bit , if its wrapping up these long *** fronts on your rears , and the sway bars should be employ'd , and hp or police t bars as well . it will be a fun safe ride , just one lose nut behind the wheel , lol . i can dig it . this motor is in my drive hot cam'd and fun .

Definitely a Dana 60 over the 8 3/4. Dana is pretty limited gear wise (3.54, 3.73, 4.10, 4.30, 4.56, 5.13) and no one makes a 40 splined locker/limited slip for the Dana 60. All you can get for the 40 spline race axles (pretty sure no one makes a 40 spline street axle) is a spool. A locker is decent on the street, I ran one in my 70 SF with a Dana. You'll need about 1,500-2000 hp at the wheels before you start hurting a good set of aftermarket 35 spline axles. Sounds like a really cool project!

just finishing up a dana 60 in this a body . i think its a 35 spline . it was from a f250 cut down using ford bearings and backing plates , but we put chrysler drums on it to use the 14'' rim center . customer wanted that 4''bc on the rear as well . as the front , not my choosing . so we built rims to fit as well . again not my choosing , he wants to run full wheel covers , and there 14'' covers , so we peel'd those 14'' rims apart to reuse the centers and that edge of the rim that holds that full wheel cover , hope you have other plans for rims n tires , this 70 more door dart is a sleeper . and yes , it was hd rear suspension and big t bars and sway bars , k frame weld'd up and braced ,

frame connectors and corner boxing and a front lower support all us car tool products . the suspension and hd steering are from firm feel . its got a 500hp 440 gv od on 727 . it should be a fun ride . thats is as safe as we can without a cage .
