Hello,

I have 75 Imperial that i am replacing the fuel pump on. The old pump (which looks to be original) has a spring (I think it’s an anti float spring) between the pump lever/rocket arm and case /body of pump…..the new/replacement (aftermarket) does not have this spring but has the tabs on the lever and case where it looks like the spring should be.

My question is: does this spring need to be in the new pump or no?

Kind of reluctant to transfer the spring out of the old pump as it’s almost 50 years old…

Appreciate any input on this-thanks

20 years of auto parts sales, and I've never seen a fuel pump that you need to transfer a spring on.
