This happened today, a few blocks from me:
Fire started in garage, neighbors heard popping sounds and maybe some smoke as the first indication something was wrong. Firefighters say the popping was probably tires bursting. This would make the cars (or one of the 2 cars) as almost certainly the fire source. Metal roof was notable in causing problems attacking the fire / getting into the attic. Notice the house next door was damaged somewhat. Built too close, fire and building codes are insufficient. I'm going to try to follow this and find out if an EV was to blame.
