Happy Veterans Day from the Motor City as well. You guys are the best!:sFl_america2:

As an Air Force 'brat' I wish to thank all veterans here, including those of other countries outside the USA. Thank you!

Glenn

I also salute all the Warfighter's from our allied Armies north of the border and around the world.

Thanks and thank you too. I'm impressed with this years effort. Every show I watch on the tube is honoring our veterans.

I want to say thanks to all the other vet's on the site. I an very happy with the way our country is treating the vet's today. The vet's I feel the most for are Vietnam vet's, what they put up with when returning home still makes me outraged. When I returned from Desert Storm it was the total opposite. I am very thankful for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for us and their country. It's good to see all service men and women get the recognition they deserve

Did anyone notice that the 2 Soldiers on the ends are guarding the SIX of the 4 Soldiers in the middle?

SIX = cover my six - short for cover my six o'clock, means watch my back, other numbers can be used 12 = front, 3 = left, 9 = right (like a clock)

Thanks TBM3fan for the link, That guy was a hero.
In 1972 while serving in the 24th CAMS a new Guy showed up. He was quite a bit older than the rest of us, considering his low rank.
Shortly thereafter the Chief took me to the side and asked me to help him whenever I could, as the other young guys were unhelpful.
The man seemed tired, and the heat was getting the better of him. I said no problem, who is he? And MSGT Hundley said: He was a brown shoe(WW2 Vet). He went on to say that Sgt Ritchey was a tail Gunner on a Douglas dauntless at the battle of midway. So he is to be given every consideration as long as he can do the job. I was in Awe at 20 years old to be serving with a World war II veteran. The Chief went on to say that I was to steer clear of the Squadron Commander, as we was a B-17 Pilot in the war, and was an accident waiting to happen. in those days the Squadron Commander had to be qualified on every Aircraft in the Squadron. getting that guy in a helicopter was scary. Sgt Ritchey was a hoot once you got to know him. I asked him once "how do you shoot straight up when you are in a dive?"
He said sarcastically that it was the same as shooting straight down in a climb, Dumbass! OkAAAAA! Most of them are gone, but they deserve every consideration.:sFl_america2:
