horn inside steering wheel

hello all i have a 65 plymouth fury i need pics or a exploded view of the horn button assembly from the ring to the button and how it works becsuse i think i have all the parts to it but can't seem to make it work under the horn ring correctly.any help please

I believe All Par has the Factory Service Manual online available for free download. You'd be wise to download it or buy a used hard copy off eBay. You'll be glad you did.

I looked in my copy and I was surprised that there isn't.

If you downloaded the parts manual from the link I gave, there is general view of the parts on page 8-38, but it's not a great one and I don't know if that is going to help.

i know its just baffles me that i can't figure this out i must have a missing piece and that no one has pics of it or remembers how they did it .ill check those pages thanks again.

p.s.
i know he means well I'm pretty sure all you guys do.this particular job has been upsetting to me.

Here you go....... first up is the top of the wheel. The red arrows show the holes the screws go into, you'll see the screws later.

Next is with the horn switch in place. There are a couple of tabs on the bottom of the switch that engage holes in the top of the wheel hub, so you may need to wiggle things a bit to get it in position. You can see the screw holes in the bottom of the holes in the switch.

This is one of the three screws, shown with the insulator sleeve on it.

This shows the horn ring in place, the screws go through the ring and down through the switch into the wheel hub.

Should be all you need. This is from a scuzzy wheel on a recent acquisition I haven't really started on and the pics were taken as I disassembled things. Questions?? @t57f100

ok ill take a closer look now that i have some pics i have a 65 fury and i must need to take the cap off of it but from what i remember its the two hole unit that bolts up from under the steering wheel .it seems you are attaching the three screws to something i must be missing .but hey thanks for the pics

The horn button is a ground circuit for the horn relay. Grounds through steering shaft. Power for the horns is only at relay.

i think the best thing for me is to post what i have as far as a horn ring i see i have all the other parts

They didn't start attaching with screws through the back of the wheel for a few years after 65, you may have a cobbled setup.

ok been checking into this i do have the wrong horn assembly ring im looking at one on eBay thank you guys i do wonder if my steering wheel will work with the correct ring .but so far so good finally on the right path

sir im so close to fixing mine does a 1966 plymouth fury steering wheel not the horn ring fit onto the 65 plymouth fury and if so i can't see why the horn ring wouldn't .

ok im on the last of this you were right i have the wrong wheel for my 65 plymouth fury it should be a three spoke not two i now have the correct horn ring .does anybody or you know someone who has one for sale.wow thanks for all the help on this

The three spoke wheels are fairly uncommon and finding one in decent shape can be a real beotch. Are you needing the wheel itself or the horn ring?
