Old Man with a Hat
Yesterday I spent 8 hours on the carrier pounding away and grinding away at rust on the upper most level. Eventually the right wrist had had enough of swinging a 3lb. sledge and got concerned I'd whack my left thumb when I missed. However, I kept grinding away while sitting on the deck leaning over a little.
This not to mention that I have to climb 13 Floors (decks) to get there. Then there is the fact that I climb 13 up, 15 down to machine shop, 15 back up, 6 down to storage, 6 back up and then 13 down to close up. My back, right wrist, right leg and hip feel like they were run over by a truck... twice this morning. Good thing I took off from my office today.
However, there was entertainment while sitting up top, in an 18 mph wind whistling through the railings and mast. I have heavy ear protection on but I faintly heard what sounded like boat engines. Boat engines out here among ships?
Yep, below and to port is an exercise in action. Military and SFPD doing a mock assault on a ship. Why SFPD I have no idea. Total of 7 boats with 5 USCG and 2 SFPD. Plus the one helo that was also involved below me. About 40 men involved.
