I need a piece of pot metal re-chromed. Recommendations?

Sucks that it is, because it is a nice piece. But as he said, the price skyrocketed in the past to year because of restrictions on the chems and metals used.
They've been using that excuse for a while now.

Truth is that they have just done things sloppy and haven't bothered to do the paperwork until they were forced to. Read that as hire someone to come in and straighten it all out.

If you've ever been in a "Mom and Pop" shop and then an industrial shop, the difference between the two is staggering. The industrial shops (for the most part) have been keeping up with the rules and regs and have their feces adjacent. Bob's plating in the alley behind the bowling alley and bottle return is usually a nasty little place where you consider buying new shoes after you've walked through it. A lot of those places are gone, but the small shops still haven't been keeping up.
