I Picked Up This J-Body today

Thank you for the clarification. Did the J bodies use transverse torsion bars then or longitudinal? What was the body designation of the 1975 - 79 Cordoba, Chargers, and Magnums then? It seemed even the instrument panels of the J bodies and R bodies were pretty much the same, or am I remembering incorrectly on that point too?

They were B Bodies, the last.

That's a sweet car, second one of it's type I've seen. I know their not stock, but love the slots!

J bodies use transverse bars. They are (essentially) F/M bodies with a longer wheelbase, unique interiors and sheet metal.

R bodies use a dash that looks similar to the J's in layout, but they are not interchangeable. They are a completely different layout than a B body, even late B's.

As far as I know it's factory. They did put some Tuff Wheels in some of these cars. The wrap on the steering wheel is the same color blue as the dash.

My 81 Reliant had a Factory Tan Tuff-Wheel and we had a J-body with a red one. That might be the 1st year they offered the color-keyed wheels.

Sorry, yes a late B-Body and R-Body are different from the F,J,M suspension wise. Thank you for the correction.
