If your car was a song what would it be?

interesting thread... for me, depends on the car. i'll stick with my C's.

Cop cars - I dont travel with music..except the rumbling exhaust and engine sound at speed. simple thrills, no frills, all business.

on luxo-cruisers.. (Imps, NY's), gotta have sounds, so its a smooth jazz vibe but with a sense of motion in the beat, or "car" or "ride" or "trip" in the lyrics.

I have cassettes and eight tracks with my favorite driving "mix-tapes" btw..anyone else do that?

anyway, I like this one...never heard of her before 15 yrs ago, don't own any other of her songs, but "My Oh My". I didnt find any music vids of this song..just a YouTube user's homage.

With favorite gal alongside, or just me and the music loud..when its time to "howl at the moon" its the signal for "put yer foot in it dude" for the last 40 seconds of the song...without getting pulled over for doing over 100 mph ;)

My Oh My
MACKINNON/JOHNSON

Come on pretty baby lets take a ride
to far out places we'll get inside
of the world that only you inspire
I know a way to get a little high
We'll run away on a be bop tip
don't need much just the love of it
let the kettle boil, let the telephone ring
we'll say good-bye to everything

My oh my, my oh my, oh the mystery of it all
my oh my, can you tell me that you hear me call

My oh my, my oh my, oh the tales that we could spin
why oh why, can you tell me why
can we just...begin

Come on little darlin' let's go for a swim
take that plunge dive right in
to that shining place that's beckoning
hold our breath, we'll count to ten
As we dive to the bottom
let's stay for a while
swim with the fishes let's dig the vibe
of that magic place of reckoning
water's fine, jump right in

Come on sweet daddy let's take a drive
just us two turn the radio high
as we glide along to that Coltrane tune
out on the desert we'll howl at the moon

This is the song I play on the stereo when I arrive in the big green Imp.

Always liked this one for all-purpose lead-footin' in my sportier sleds ...and that's as far as I will comment without further self-incrimination as to the occasional fractured speed limit :eusa_angel:

as others have pointed out there is some strange correlation between your favorite song played loud and your vehicle speed. the louder the song, the faster your car wants to go. why is that I wonder....?

at about three minutes into this one, my foot is at its heaviest and the steering wheel, armrests, and floor board becomes a drum set...and whatever is hanging from my mirror a cymbal.

Wind beneath my wings...

Now I wouldn't have pegged you for a Bette Midler fan Matt but then again Phantom Of The Opera has been in my collection for many years - music of all kinds makes the world go round....keep em coming guys this is very interesting

I was actually being sarcastic, I can't stand the song.

My fury wou,d be "Hang fire" by the rolling stones. There has been more start and then hesitate for that thing.

Peter Gunn Theme, followed by any track from the Vanishing Point soundtrack. It's all great cruising music.

The Fury 1 Song (author unknown)

Rockin down the highway in my radio delete,
Thumbs up, a second look from folks out on the street
My baby ridin shotgun, not a word need be said
The only tune that's playin is the one inside my head

Fury 1, the afternoon sun
Fury 1, we gonna have some fun
Goin through the gears is like music to my ears
Keep on drivin and arrivin, until the day is done
