So OK My car does not fit in my garage. It's always been an outside project. Now that it's running and drivable (YEA:os_dancing2:) I'm trying to get it insured. so far two of the collector car insurance companies won't insure it because they require it to be in a locked garage.
Any thoughts?

FWIW, They don't check.

That's the answer

Problem arises if you have a claim and then they find out you don't have the secure storage. They may pay out that time, but there may be problems come renewal time. When I discussed this with my agent he says the main concern is weather related damage (hail, windstorm, and the like). Even parked inside a car trailer is good with mine.

i have farm bureau insurance, not classic car insurance i don't want limited miles that they try to put on our cars

Hagerty wants picture of your 'car' in a garage. Now does that mean the car stays there after the picture is taken? I wouldn't know. I can't go to everyone's home and check?:tiptoe:

Do you have a garage available at all friend, uncle, parents that all you need. Does not have to stay there just a reference.
