It pays to ask

Thats foolish .... wanting to see any American classic destroyed is ridiculous
After coming off the 67-68 available with a fast top/back roof line, and prior to them the 65-66, the 69 is quite a let down. Then the worst part is that the only cars that you could go over 400 Cid because of some GM paranoia was in the full size car and this one has a bellybutton under the hood. If it was a pristine survivor sure but as any kind of project it is parts at best, IMO the worst looking full size Chevy until the 77 boxes came out.
SBC, power glide, 10 bolt rear, small brakes, ugly body, I'm not really seeing the loss.

If Nicks car went to the crusher was it a loss?

If that's a 71 four door 318 Polara is it a loss? In your mind of course because it opinion but I'm sure parts on that car could have been had by someone, especially the 327.....

Since they don't make them anymore it's a loss

First off it is like comparing a bag of apples (Chryslers)to a truckload of oranges (Chevy's). If you lose a dozen oranges off the truck no big deal, if you lose a couple of apples out of your bag it's noticeable. If someone loves that 69 Chevy full size styling, to them it my be a loss, IMO it is the bottom rung on the ladder of Chevy's from 55-76. The 327 was being phased out by 69. The only desirable ones were in Corvettes, and SS package cars, the full size cars with SS package would have a 350 with good cylinder heads as base engine. Point being there is nothing special about a that 69 Chevy other than parts, mostly body and hardware parts. Hell Chevy probably made more 69 full size specific (if they are) SS badges than than Chrysler made of all 69 Polara's.

WANT.

BADLY

I had a 69 SS Chevy Impala with the four speed and 427. I drove it from New York to Florida in 81. I loved that car until it threw a rod. I parked it at my moms house, and moved to Colorado. My older brother sold it while I was gone. It was rusting out quite a bit.

That's the Caprice Roof which was available for the Impala Custom as well, I don't like it that much either, the regular Hardtop for example is a rather nice package. And I agree, the 67s with the sleek Hardtop are tops.

I like the tail lights on a 68 better but a 67 has a more simple grill
69 also lost the vent windows same reason a 67 Camaro is better than 68 and 69.

All opinion .... sorry you feel that way. I LOVE OLD AMERICAN V8 IRON.... all of it! I actually believed most on this board felt the same way. I enjoy seeing them on the street, at shows, and in the yards. To be happy to see them destroyed is blasphemy, you should be burned at the stake.
While I prefer the 68 as ive said many times before on this board, the 67s and 69s are right there. Then again I prefer a 58 over the 55s 56s and 57s so maybe its me.....

Youre wrong, not an apples to oranges comparison .....:stop:

I would not say happy just indifferent. It's a car and not high on my list. Okay it's like a bag of apples compared to a truckload of apples the math is still the same.
The Fixed was probably not warranted. My bad.

Is this "forchevysonly"? Wth? Hahaha jk

I can appreciate most old iron with V8's. I wouldn't kick an old chevy outa the garage. Now a ford... That **** best be parked around the block if you bring it over lol

Both pictured above I would drive!

I have a soft spot for 69 Impalas.

I used to drive the neighbour lady around when I was learning to drive, 69 Impala 2dr hardtop, 327.

The grandmother of a girl I dated in highschool had a 69 427 SS convertible, red, black top and interior. Not your typical little old lady. :steering:

I'd rather a Ford over a Chev any day, but why have either when there are so many nice Mopars.
