JEGS High Performance

I miss working at a parts store with people who know what they are doing. I was the last one at my store, a week later they had a combined IQ of about 6.

Went to O'Reilly's to get a battery, stated so, and not one of the three people there even asked if I needed something, a common thing at many of their stores I've been to.

In town I have their Parts City independent store.

The O'Reilly's, Pep Boys, Auto Zones and such are close too but they kind of suck here.
They suck here also. Thank goodness for the internet. I look up my own parts and have them sent to the store or if shipping is free sent to the house.

I've been ordering a ton of parts lately from Jeg's and Summit and a bunch of other vendors. Great service from everybody so far.

i returned a computer mainboard to amazon before.. 1 1/2 years later (2 year warraty). They didnt have a replacement so they just refunded me the full price. what the heck!?

but I do buy a lot of parts from amazon prime too, no problems so far!

I'm lucky to have a NAPA store to deal with. Same family owned since 1966. Friendly, knowledgeable & competitive with their prices. Hard to beat that type of service. If they can't find an item on the computer they will actually look in a parts book. There is an O"Reillys opening soon across the street from them. Advance & Auto Zone have been a mile away for several years . I prefer locally owned business over chains.

i got a free vapor canister (for my daily driver ($275)) from autozone due to human error from their manager i was working with, i used that money saved for xmas gifts

i don't trust autozone for most larger stuff but the small stuff i'm fine with

How did you swing that? What did he screw up?

You have to realize that just because a vendor has an item in their catalog, it might not be in their physical invent.ory. In the case of Rare Parts, Jegs got your order, then placed an order with Rare Parts, who also didn't have it in their current physical inventory. Hence the noted shipping delays! Of course, if Jeg's hasn't yet received the part to ship, no FedEx tracking number can exist!

Jeg's has been in business for many decades. And they'll be around for a long time into the future. Summit's a little newer and got into the "free shipping" orientation a little quicker. MANY of the same products, with (as noted) Summit being a little cheaper in cost, usually. Over the past few years, Summit's begun offering many restoration part vendor brands, even tires.

Finding an "old line" auto parts store with experienced employees is a treasure to cherish and patronize. Even better with a counter full of paper parts books!

no idea how it all happened, it's just human error

i paid for one and he orders one i show up 2 days later to see if it came in, nope. so he orders another one i show up the following day or two both came in to pick up my vapor canister and something something refunded my money for some reason idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ so that refunded money went towards buying xmas gifts for the family

It is impossible for me to feel bad about AutoZone, EVER!
If a race riot broke out here, I'd be the first one to smash the windows, loot the place, and then burn the place down.
